EXCURSION DESCRIPTION

This full day experience starts at 8:30 at the local tourist port.  We set sail from the local tourist dock at 9:00 Hs crossing the wide Ushuaia Bay until reaching the Beagle Channel through Paso Chico.
There we sail around the “Birds Island” where we will see Skuas, Black-browed Albatrosses, Steam Ducks, Cauquenes, Cook Seagulls and Gray Seagulls; continuing, we will visit the “Sea Lions Island” where we can observe sea lions with one and two hairs. Both islands belong to the Bridges archipelago.
Then we get to the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse (The Iluminators), one of the most iconic places in Ushuaia. There we will be able to appreciate the colonies of Imperial Cormorants and Rocky Cormorants too.
Continuing through the east, we will see Puerto Almanza, Puerto Williams until we get to Martillo Island, where we will be able to appreciate a big Pinguin Rookery.
Finally, we return navigating the Beagle Channel to the City.
Once in the City, you will have one hour to have lunch by your own.
After lunch, we will pickup you where you are and start our afternoon excursion, traveling the first 8km and, next to the Ushuaia Golf Club, we will arrive at THE END OF THE WORLD TRAIN station.
After forty years without working, in 1994 the Train of the End of the World resumed part of the old route made by the train of the prisoners, which departed from the Ushuaia prison, located in the center of the city, towards the hillside of Monte Susana with the aim of obtaining materials (wood and stone) for its construction. On board the train you can listen to the history of the prisoners who came to cut wood every day to this area, and enjoy magnificent landscapes, composed of the zigzagging Pipo River, the La Macarena waterfall, the tree cemetery and the majestic forest of Tongues In this way you will visit an inaccessible part of the Tierra del Fuego National Park, where you can enjoy this experience aboard a vintage railroad, with its steam locomotives and elegant cars that have large windows and an individual audio system, the which offers the possibility to listen to the story in 7 different languages, in order to not only appreciate the nature that surrounds it, but also to know a very important part of the history of Ushuaia. After the Train, we will get further inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park (area reserved for the protection of the sub-Antarctic forest, native flora and fauna). We will visit Ensenada Bay, Acigami Lake (glacial lake of more than 5 square km), the Alakush Interpretation Center, where we will have approximately 30 free minutes in the service area and then continue to Lapataia Bay, end of Pan-American Route N 3. From there, once we have crossed the walkways, we will begin the return to the city of Ushuaia.
